Arts, Media, and Entertainment Industry Sector

About

The Arts Media and Entertainment (AME) industry sector of the Career Technical Education (CTE) was established by the California Department of Education (CDE) to support students who are interested in careers in the creative industry.  AME pathways which allow students to focus on a particular art form, include standards-aligned intermediate and advanced level coursework in one of the following areas:

  • Design, Visual and Media Arts
  • Performing Arts
  • Production and Managerial Arts
  • Game Design and Integration

CTE AME Standards

The Model Curriculum Standards for Arts, Media and Entertainment were adopted in 2013. According to CDE, AME instructional programs “can be aligned with the 2019 California Arts Standards and submitted to satisfy A–G (F) requirements for university admission”.
