n this experiential day-of-dance, participants will become familiar with the new California Arts Standards-Dance and consider how they can be applied in their schools and districts.
School leaders—teachers, VAPA coordinators, and administrators will work together to create strategies for a progression of dance learning TK through 12th grade that meets the learning goals of your community. Participants will move, think, problem-solve, and take on the perspectives of various constituents that can support or hinder the development of standards-based dance. Working in teams, the goal of this session is to recognize and access resources to make the potential of dance learning available to ALL California students.
Bring a team from your school or join other participants to create a new team for workshopping possibilities—come prepared to move, think, engage!
Who should attend: Teachers, teaching artists, administrators, parents, community members who are interested in learning more about the California Dance Standards.
Cost: $125 includes light breakfast, lunch, and materials.
