Chapter 2

The Instructional Cycle

Chapter 2 “supports teachers in designing and implementing instruction, including assessment of student learning, aligned to the California Arts Standards". Chapter 2 addresses the instructional cycle in a holistic way with attention to the California Arts Standards, which outline California’s progression for student learning outcomes in dance, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts, instructional planning and assessment, and supporting learning for all students. Due to its length, educators may wish to study the chapter in several parts.
