CREATIVITY AT THE CORE SUMMER INSTITUTE DREW EDUCATORS FROM ACROSS THE STATE
Over 100 administrators and teachers attended the Creativity at the Core Summer Institute at Loyola Marymount University on August 4, 5, and 6 in Los Angeles sponsored by CCSESA Arts Initiative. Representative regional arts leads and their partner arts organization leads provided breakout sessions which focused on the Creativity at the Core professional learning modules developed through funding from The California Arts Council and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
Speakers included: Laura Zucker, Executive Director of the Los Angeles Arts Commission; Carrie Roberts, Director of the Professional Learning and Support Division at CDE; Francisca Sanchez, California Association for Bilingual Education; Donn Harris, Chair of The California Arts Council and Executive Director of the Oakland School for the Arts. Yvonne Contreras, Director of The Division of Curriculum and Instruction Services at LACOE presented as part of an Innovative Leadership in Action panel along with other select leaders.
